On Friday the Mustangs were at home to take on the Cotulla Cowboys. Looking to stop their 6 game losing streak, the Mustangs came out early and took a 12-6 lead going into the 2nd quarter. Cotulla would find their way back into the game cutting it to a 2 point deficit before the Mustangs would finish the 2nd quarter on a 5-0 run to take a 19-12 lead into the half. Both teams came out on fire in the 2nd half as they combined for a total of 11 3-pointers in the 3rd quarter. Enrique Deosio knocked down 4 3-pointers alone for the Mustangs in the quarter that helped give them a 37-28 lead going into the 4th quarter. The Mustangs were able to lock Cotulla down defensively in the 4th quarter holding them to just 6 points as the Mustangs took care of business with a 55-34 victory. The Mustangs improve to 6-6 in District 27-3A.
